Some end users may be mechanically inclined enough to make changes to this buggy with regard to the width issues and steering deficits. It is possible to shrink  the rear width of this machine and this should help improve the turning radius. This could be done by repositioning the rear shocks so they are more inboard and using a different shock that reflect the change (slightly shorter shock) so the CV joints do not get over extended, as well as getting a new set of rims that have a more positive offset will make the rear width far more narrow.  A buggy with smaller rear track will turn faster.  There is not much room up front for change but if somone wished to make the front track more narrow to make the buggy fit the trails better, a slightly more positive offset rim should fit.

The GTR250 is a decent buggy. In my opinion this machine is a good start for Carter’s new line of XRV’S. It does, however,  have plenty of room for improvement especially since there are other buggy manufacturers out there who are producing better suspension and smaller foot prints on their machines.  Which brings me to another question:  Why hasn't the front suspension been changed away from the strut style setup?  Those long strut towers for steering are begging to be damaged and add excess stress on the linkages which reflects in the feel of the steering wheel. Carter Brothers got the engine right, that is for sure! In my opinion make the buggy 4 inches longer and 10 inches narrower. Install better shocks, taller wheels, larger rotors, hi/lo gearing so the top speed can be faster and change the roll cage so it is more sleek and aero dynamic in appearance. After all appearance is what brings customers in.
